Carly and Dom... together can do anything....

I met Carly years ago when I photographed her and her horse JP. She wasn't engaged then, but her and Dom have been together what feels like forever. Carly has become such a great friend. She is one of the very few people I call for advice. She has always been there for me and continues to be to this very day. Carly has an amazing family, who I just happen to adore. Carly and I speak the same language, we come from a similar upbringing. She gets me and sometimes she even sets my head straight when I need it! I am so happy that she has found the love of her life and that he is so equally deserving of her as she is of him. I am glad that I met her just by chance and have gotten to know him. Dominic is very romantic. She just happened to find an engagement ring under JP's feed bucket in 2009. In all my years at the barn, I never found anything in my feed buckets other than feed!..... unfortunately. LOL. I was so excited to see the ring right after the proposal and sometime after that I got the "will you be my wedding photographer?" text. My fingers couldn't type "yes" fast enough! Over the 2 years and 3 months of preparation I was really ready for this wedding to happen. I wanted everything to go right. I was so lucky to be able to get Kiley in on this even though this wedding was booked before I teamed up with her. This was our last wedding of the season, and it was so special to us for so many reasons.
The dress itself, was vintage inspired with a modern twist, with some custom alterations. The top layer of the dress consisted of antique ivory lace from the top to the fit and flare bottom. It was made perfectly.  As I looked for directions on my phone the morning of the wedding, I realized I had missed a text from Carly asking me to her last fitting. I was crushed that in the hustle of our crazy schedule shooting this fall I had over looked such an important message. I would have been there, but I was happy I actually saw the dress for the first time the day of the wedding.

Man of Honor, Stefano, was able to help his sister out with the million buttons.
He also happened to be the subject of one of my favorite captures this year....
The wedding incorporated Equestrian elements -- including the bride breaking out a pair of cowboy boots -- but also kept other traditions, like lots of details of important people who have passed that the couple wanted to make sure were not forgotten on their big day.
Carly's Mom had a piece of her very own wedding dress cut and made to wrap Carly's gorgeous bouquet of Calla lillies in the color of her orange, fall inspired wedding theme.

Getting ready for the day was a fun and relaxing time just as it should be. The rest of the details were certainly over 2 years in the making as they were flawless as well....

The barn ceremony, reception and overall venue decor contained a mix mums, Gerber daisies pumpkins, gourds, gorgeous lighting and of course fall foliage!

Here are just some of the special moments between the bride, groom and their family and friends from the day.

I was so honored to be part of the most perfect day for a couple who were simply made for one another. It just couldn't have been a better day or way to end our season for that matter....

xoxo,
