The first of the season and a first for me!

I had the pleasure of assisting my partner, Kiley, with a wonderful wedding this past weekend at  Mountain Springs Lake Resort in the Poconos of Pennsylvania. . It is just the very start to the season, but I can say that I have never seen a couple more in love than Jenny and Mike. I am often very moved by my couples, but never as much as this wedding. A first for me! Jenny looked amazing!
I got to cover the guys as they got ready. They were having lots of fun and there was never a dull moment with this group. I asked if I could take a couple shots of Mike shaving. He cut himself, but as soon as we got the bleeding to stop we were ready to proceed.
When Mike saw Jenny for the first time it was such a touching moment. He could not even hardly speak which made Kiley and I totally speechless!
The ceremony was also emotional. Jenny and Mike shared the vows that they had written to one another. Mike started to read his, but threw them to the side and finished by saying some things straight from his heart and totally in the moment. Jenny had to remind him that he had to wait to kiss her!
The party started and everyone was having a great time. It never even phased anyone that it rained the whole day. Nothing stood in the couples way of having a special day and the guests were there to share the joy.

It feels like Kiley and I have been working together forever. There was so much problem solving that had to be done due to the weather and we worked it seamlessly. We are both so hard on ourselves, but never each other. It is a great combo and I can't wait to have my couples experience her talent. Many more to come! Check out her blog for more on this fantastic day.

The original "Fleur Baby"...

I admit it.....I didn't want her. We already had two dogs, but no one else seemed to want her either. Potty training was pure hell, but she is the best thing that really ever happened to us. I was telling my partner, Kiley, this weekend about carrying her asleep on her back into CVS when I first brought her home. I had put a bright pink puppy diaper on her. People must have thought I was crazy. I named her Fleur, after my studio, so I guess I had an idea how special she would be especially to me. I never met a bigger snuggle bug. When I am mad at her she tries so bad to get back into my good graces. It is very hard to stay mad at her. She lives in the moment, never carries a grudge and loves me unconditionally. What could be better?
I encourage anyone who can make the commitment to an unwanted animal to do so. Fleur is really so grateful to us and she shows us everyday. I am glad my husband made me take her home!

Two DJs in Love..........

I first met Becca last year when she first started to plan her big day. I can honestly say Becca is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Coming from me, that is a big statement! She is caring, loyal and I can tell she is very ambitious. She can also carry a great conversation! I was so excited to meet Ara. All I could tell you is that he is VERY SMART- because he picked Becca! Now I can tell you after seeing them together they are very lucky to have each other. Just looking at them they are what I call "forever".
Becca and Ara met in Paris where they were both booked to DJ. I have my couples answer questionnaires about how they met and what they like about the other. It helps me really see how they love each other. Everyone loves differently and I found this was a great way for me to gain some insight into my couples relationship. It also helps me find awesome locations that are a perfect fit for the couple!
Becca loves that Ara is an awesome cook. Since I married a former chef, I can tell you its THE BEST decision you could ever make! When I asked Becca what the most important thing about her wedding day was she said "The most important thing is that I am marrying my soul mate." When I opened the frames from the shoot I could tell that was exactly the case!
Apparently, the location I chose has a shooting range somewhere close because every time the cute couple kissed gunfire exploded! We all got a good laugh out of that!
I am genuinely excited to share their big day in May with them. It is an honor when a couple so lovely chooses me to shoot their wedding!
